I have been trying to get ahead on my finances after coming back from the Philippines. I was blessed with a great job that I was able to start full time at. however, I have been working funny hours because I am currently keeping up with my internship too.
For my internship I am doing Freelance Interpreting. This takes me anywhere from 10-150 miles a day. With gas at 4.00 a gallon I wanted to sit and cry, or quit at life for a little bit. Instead... I bought a crotch rocket that gets 70mpg. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and have saved a lot of money. I have only driven my car twice since I got the bike. I am able to drive it everywhere. By the end of the summer the bike will have paid for itself as well as save me at least 200$ unless gas keeps climbing.
Then, I was still slightly stuck with some rent issues and school loans that I am paying off currently. And I just got $1 raise at work! I started another job where I will be getting paid very well to make supper for an older man that lives 4 miles away 3 nights a week. And I can choose which nights.
Today I went outside to take a phone call, which i never do, and I bent over to pull the dead flowers off the flower bush, also to look like i was actually there for a reason. Inside the bush was an unfolded 10$ bill. It was almost like it was growing inside the bush. I was pretty excited. I should check again later and see if it is perhaps... a money bush! Wouldn't that be wonderful? Maybe if it is I will leave the 10$ bill so it will grow into 20. maybe not.
The point is... God has continued to bless me even though I have allowed myself to get a little stressed about finances. He is always taking care of me.
