Practicing for natural Birth.

Two years ago was the first time I attended a class for natural birthing. Now, before you start to think i am crazy, I attend many classes of random topics to prepare myself for what is ahead in my freelance interpreting season of life. Most of the interpreters I come across have interpreted for births, many of them natural births. So i wanted to see what it was all about. The second time I attended a class i decided that this is something i will probably want to try when i finally get married and am pregnant.

I have been able to take some new hours at the group home i work for. I am there at 8am and the client doesn't usually get up until 9 or 9:30. I have found that one channel highlights natural births from 8 to 9. (perfect because Ellen is on at 9). The first day i watched the show i realized how much pain those women actually endure. (they don't really tell you that in those classes.) after seeing the women endure the painful birth i still think i want to try it.

later that morning i went for a bike ride with my client. however, this was the first time i have been on a bike ride in probably 3 years. After about 10 minutes i was exhausted and my lower body was burning. I kept going without a word for another 10 minutes and decided, after the pain got much worse, that this pain is nothing compared to what natural birth would be like. So i decided to continue on until my client was ready to turn back. This, i figured, would be the first step to preparing for the pain of natural birth.

no comparison, i am sure.
